WOYWW 253

I thought I would get in early on this weeks WOYWW (for full explanation see Julia's blog HERE).  However, I will probably forget to link it up in the morning! Anyhow, I have been trying to make some sympathy cards with very little success.  I find them the most difficult of all, yet we usually sell more of them than any other kind.  On a happier note, I am being supervised by my latest little owl treat box - I got a tutorial for the basic idea on craftprojectcentral.com and just had to try it out!  Here he is again for a closer look - I just have to decide what to put inside it now!

  2. Oh, he is precious! I love it! Someone is going to be lucky to recieve him. I know what yo mean about sympathy cards. They are hard for me too. This weekend I had to do one for a dying young man to encourage and strengthen him. I was so sad, and worried. I think it turned out nice, but more importantly the person will just love being remembered during a rough time. Enjoy the week ahead! Winnie#67

  3. Lol, that owl box is a hoot ;-) its brilliant, I might pass that link on to my teacher friend. Bet kids would love to have a go, even if its modified slightly to make it easier.
And yes, sympathy cards are tricky....I always try and buy something different but usually end up with one in soft tones. Yours is lovely :-)

  4. I just LOVE your little owl box!! Way cute! I sometimes have difficulty with sympathy cards but then, if I think of them as a masculine card or flower card then I can add the sympathy text and they work out. At least, that's my method. Happy WOYWW!

  5. I agree that sympathy cards are difficult to create Bernice but you've have some lovely stamps out that are perfect for the job. The little owl is adorable - love his eyes. Elizabeth x #77

  6. G'day Bernice
I haven't participated in WOYWW for maybe 9 months and I am trying to get to as many as I can this week...lovely creative stuff going on on your desk there. Yep sympathy cards are hard along with male cards I reckon. Good luck getting them done. OMG what cute owl...I just love him and I shall have to look up how to make one!

  8. He is so cute! Just right for an Easter egg, methinks (but then I always go for chocolate!) I know what you mean about sympathy cards - always difficult to hit the right note. Have a good week, Chris # 35

  9. Sympathy cards can be very tricky to get right. I have a beautiful rosebud stamp, which was designed by my daughter and made for us by Clarity and that is perfect to create a very simple card. I love your owl box, he is just so cute, but useful at the same time. Having just had an extended massage to smooth away all the aches and pains from travelling, I think the lawn will not get cut and there might be some playing with some of my new stash. Have you seen Barbara's new wheelie stencils? Those I really need. Hope you have a good week. xx Maggie #28
